Haha, fair enough.

Yeah, I checked him out and found a lot of his works on cg artist's website. That fellow is absolutely incredible. Nice to see what type of caliber Blizzard expects from its artists - that's some pretty damn good motivation right there.

And I'm eager to see your finished piece. What size do you normally work in by the way?

Uhmm I work mainly in whatever the heck I feel like xD. It usually ends up being two times my screen resolution tho since I like to work at 50% zoom perhaps 90% of the time.

You?

Yeah, I seem to have the same habit as you. At the moment, I seem to be floating around the 1680x1200 size, though sometimes I crop it if the composition needs it.

Not too sure if there's a standard size in which people tend to work.

Ditto. Bigger canvas just means more details.

The sheer size of that hammer reminds me of Garl Vinland's Bramd. Crazy strength to even hold it.

@Invertation: I had to do a google search on what that was. That game looks pretty awesome, especially the dragon with that double jaw action going on.

@Del: That it is - my choice of hammer with Kurzick armor.

That and making people not pretty anymore.

EDIT: The last of this night's work. Progress stopped when I got distracted when Snuff Box came on. Anyways, I've changed the idea for the piece around. I was going to have him alone in the midst of a horde of Afflicted. But I recently picked up one of my favorite books Taiko (which I highly recommend to anyone who enjoys epic novels) again and wanted to make something with a mass warfare vibe to it. Then again, my ideas change so frequently, who the hell even knows anymore?

That being said, here's Iron at the front lines with the Canthan army.

shiny! Reminds me a LOT of Dragon Age, but this might be just because I'm a DA-addict... >.>''
Looks really good, I'm curious to see what you'll fill the scene with otherwise, seeing as you now have lead the eye of the viewer into the picture with the bridge.

I'll have to check that game out sometime since my brother had nothing but good things to say about it. And your guess is as good as mine when it comes to what I might put into this piece.

And good news for you Tzu, I think I've got an idea brewing in my head for your ranger. I'm thinking... Flaming arrows here.

Nice nice nice! Really like how I can see the progress in this picture, how you go to work. Love the armor already, and the setting with the armor behind it. Can't wait to see it finish and already turn on by the idea of flaming arrows ^^ If you could give Tzu a bit more brownish hair I can pretend its mine :P

Lol. I'll get to fixing his right leg later. Been focusing on the left arm positioning - it's a bit troublesome with properly moving the armor while also maintaining limb proportions. It's still a little bit long at the elbow, but it's better than what it was before.

@Chicken: Yeaaaaah, I wanted to raise the bar on this picture and experiment a bit more with the brush settings. Given the current progress, it's already looking different than Minami and Reyla.

@Bebe: You know it

All that jibba-jabba aside, here's the last of the night's progress. Properly depicting the anatomy is a pain in the ass because it seems to conflict a bit with overlapping armor. Aside from that, a definite layout has been mapped out. Bringing back the Afflicted idea, though I'm still 50/50 on it.
